Community Grants provide residents and local groups the opportunity to explore innovative ideas through community projects and events.
Funded through the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, the Excelsior Collaborative Community Action Grants & Community Event Grants will award up to $5,000 for projects and up to $1,000 for events.
Projects must start on or after November 1, 2019. Events with proposed dates in 2019 or 2020 are eligible and must have occurred for two or more years in the Excelsior community.
The 2019-20 grant cycle has a focus of developing a Resilient Excelsior Community. Proposed events and projects should support a culturally competent strategy to make smart investments in our neighborhood today, so that when times of stress arrive, we will be prepared to care for each other and ensure our community will continue to thrive.
The grants will put funds into the hands of community members to accomplish the following objectives:
Quickly generate improvements in the quality of life within the Excelsior community
Support Excelsior Collaborative areas of focus: Community Vitality / Celebrate Cultural Diversity; Economic Development & Jobs; Education & Youth; Health & Safety; Housing & Land Use
Involve a diverse array of neighbors and community groups in improving life within the neighborhood
Support, build, or sustain a resilient community
Join us in making a difference!
